Michael Joyce
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Haddonfield and Spring Lake, N.J., Mike and his wife Jan currently reside in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida along with their five dogs and enjoy spending their summers on a small island in the 1,000 Islands region in Ontario, Canada.
Career Overview - He began his business career in the music industry in the 1960’s when he signed a recording contract with MGM Records and went on to produce records for RCA, Cameo Parkway, and Diamond Records. In 1969 he owned and operated a New York based marina and service operation before moving to Florida in 1977 to work for legendary yacht designer Jack Hargrave in West Palm Beach. In 1981 he opened a yacht importing business in Fort Lauderdale, distributing several leading brands of yachts before returning to take over the Hargrave Company in 1997 upon the death of the founder. Since taking over the company he has led Hargrave to become the number one builder of custom yachts in the 70’-135’ size range in the US market.
Education - Attended St. Francis Prep in Spring Grove, Pa.; Bordentown Military Institute in Bordentown, N.J.; and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. where he majoring in English. He is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course, Dale Carnegie Sales Program, and numerous American Management Association programs.
