Heather Binns
Fitness expert Heather Binns is the Owner/Founder of Full of Life Fitness in Southern California. Heather has had a passion for health and fitness for more than 20 years. She holds multiple fitness certifications including the National Academy of Sports
Medicine (NASM), Apex Fitness, Equinox Fitness Training Institute (EFTI), TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebells, Functional Movement Screens (FMS), Special Populations (obesity/health/joint problems), ViPR, and the Power Plate.
Heather specializes in fat loss, metabolic and interval training, physical imbalance correction, resistance/strength training, functional movement, athletic/sport training, corrective stretching techniques, core/stability training, and Self-Myofascial Release. Her training philosophy focuses on proper form and functional training styles, in addition to healthy nutrition to safely and effectively reach one’s fitness goals. Heather is very athletic and is a former professional athlete. Her background includes running and football. She ran cross country and track & field, which then progressed into races from 5Ks to marathons, triathlons, century rides and adventure competitions. She is a Running/Triathlon Coach and has led many training programs/ teams for Nike, The American Heart Association, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Runnergy and Full of Life Fitness. She has worked for some of the top clubs in the industry such as the Sports Club/LA and Equinox Fitness and instructed group fitness classes at Disney, Nestle, Paramount Pictures, Power Plate North America and Plus One. Heather was also a professional football player (Defensive End) for the Los Angeles Lasers in the WPFL and the WAFL. Her love for sports and fitness subsequently carried on to her daughter who is a high school track star.
Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Chapman University and two Associate of Arts degrees in Fire Science and Liberal Arts. Heather enjoys volunteering and raising funds for charitable organizations such as The American Heart Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Train 4 Autism, The Epilepsy Foundation, and more. In her spare time she enjoys running, dining, painting, hiking, reading, spending time with friends & family, working out, maintaining her health, and writing heath & fitness articles for various media outlets.
