Dr. Allyn is a Board Certified Internist and Nephrologist who received his BA from Northwestern University, and MD from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, then going on to do postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Allyn then served as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and was the Director of the Acute Hemodialysis Service and the Acting Chief of Nephrology at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge Massachusetts Since 1981, Dr. Allyn has been in the private practice of Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Santa Barbara, California where he is now the Chief of Nephrology and the Co-Director of the Acute Hemodialysis Service at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital as well as the former Co-Chairman of their Medical Advisory Panel and a former member of the Long Range Strategic Planning Committee for the Cottage Health System. Dr. Allyn currently serves as Cottage Health System’s Chairman of their Physician Hospital Alignment Work Group. Dr. Allyn is also the CEO and Medical Director of the Santa Barbara and Lompoc Artificial Kidney Centers and teaches Medical Students and Medical Residents at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at USC as a member of their adjunct faculty.
