Dr. Edward T. Dougherty, Jr. is known as “The Sleep Dentist” on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the entire Delmarva Peninsula region. Dr. Dougherty received his training at the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland. He received his anesthesia training at the Montefiore Hospital in New York and St. Joseph’s Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Dougherty maintains a private practice of IV Sedation Dentistry in Ocean City, MD. He serves as an examiner for the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners evaluating dentists who apply for sedation permits. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University. Dr. Dougherty is an active member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. The ADSA is an association of more than 5,000 members in the United States, Canada and abroad. Dr. Dougherty is recognized as a Master in the College of Sedation Dentistry.
