Dr. Don Galbo
Donald Galbo, DDS is an Internationally-recognized expert
in the application of Computerized Dental Technologies.
These technologies, while not widely embraced by the majority
of dental professionals around the world, offer many
exciting benefits to patients. Dr. Galbo has been a Member
of the American Academy of Computerized Dentistry, The North American
Academy of Computerized Dentistry, and the International Society of Computerized
Dentistry. While he has embraced many other advanced technologies
his primary passion has been with Cad-Cam dentistry. He has been a certified
trainer and taught hundreds of new users in basic training and beyond. His
thirteen years of operating experience have given him invaluable insight into
how to effectively utilize this remarkable technique. He has fabricated over
fifteen thousand restorations with his three different Cerec Cad-Cam units.
Cad-Cam is the abbreviation for Computer Assisted Design-Computer Assisted
Milling. He is one of the first dentists to be certified in the Cad-On Technique
for the fabrication of bridgework in a single day.
He graduated Cum Laude from Mount Saint Mary’s College (now University)
in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1976, with a B.S. Degree in Biology, and minor
in Chemistry. While in the Pre-Med Curriculum there he was also elected to
the Monsignor Teirney Honor Society. While at the University of Maryland
School of Dentistry, in Baltimore, he was very active in the Student Dental
Association, and served as Vice President (3), and President (4). He also
was elected as the Senior Most Dedicated to his school and profession (The
Kathryn Toomey Award). While in his senior year at this first dental school in
the world (also known as The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery) he was
awarded the Senior Thesis Award. He obtained his D.D.S. Degree in 1982.
After a short stay at the dental school as a Clinical Instructor in the Department
of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, he spent three years as a Senior Assistant
Dental Surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service. Since his separation
from that service in 1985 he has been in private practice in the Atlanta,
Georgia area. When he is not doing dentistry, he enjoys playing basketball,
and his other hobby where he is a DJ and Sound Engineer.
