While in his senior year at this first dental school in the world (also known as The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery) he was awarded the Senior Thesis Award. He obtained his D.D.S. Degree in 1982. After a short stay at the dental school as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, he spent three years as a Senior Assistant Dental Surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service.
