Dr. Barbara A. Todd is a native of Conway, South Carolina. She maintains a private practice in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and has enjoyed growing the practice since 1987. Barbara began her career as a dental assistant for a local dentist and was so influenced that she decided to pursue a dental hygiene degree. After practicing hygiene for several years, her heart was set on getting a dental degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. rather than an Art degree she had considered earlier. She now uses those talents within the profession of dentistry. She finds it to be loads of fun and very gratifying. Dr. Todd maintains memberships in numerous professional organizations, including the South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Association of Oral Implantology, Grand Toastmasters Group and The Spears Study Group. She enjoys learning and continuing education is a constant endeavor to keep up with all the new and exciting developments. At present, she has accumulated over 1900 hours of continuing educa- tion. Barbara also enjoys a variety of activities and new challenges. Time with family and friends begin with boating, bicycling or just playing on the sand pile created for the nieces and nephews. She has spent time learning to motorcycle, fly (single engine Piper and Cherokee, helicopter, Schweitzer), and is now learning guitar and drums.
