David Kent

A graduate of Clemson University, with a B.S. in Building Science and Construction Management, David has worked on many land development projects. In 1995, with his distinctive background and extensive knowledge of the real estate industry, David Kent decided to embark on a new path. David and his business partner W.C. “Cece” Stricklin, opened Charleston’s first exclusive buyer’s agency, The Real Buyer’s Agent (www.charlestonhome.com). Steadfast and committed to buyer representation, this relatively new approach to the real estate business took flight. For over a decade, David and his team of agents has consistently provided clients with fervent representation and superior service.

David is also committed to further education about buyer representation and elevating the standards within the real estate profession. In 1998, he received his Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) status and 2000 his Accredited Buyer Representation Managers (ABRM) status. He has acted on the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) advisory board since 2008 and helped to re-write the ABR course in 2009. He has acted as the President of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the President of the Multiple Listing Service for the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, as well as, the Charleston Trident Homebuilders Association. In 2008 he was voted Realtor of the year by the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors. He has also acted as a director for the National Association of Realtors and was named to the 2009 National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy. In 2010, he was inducted to the (REBAC) Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Hall of Fame. Currently, David is the acting South Carolina Realtors Education Foundation (REF) President.
